In Defence Of Homer Simpson: Last Exit to Springfield

Inspired by a Church Sermon that said “don’t be like Homer Simpson”, I started watching The Simpsons to decide. Is he really that bad? Here’s an attempt at forming a defence based on “Last Exit to Springfield”.

Otherwise known as the one where “Lisa Needs Braces”

Choice of episode having everything to do with my trip to the dentist that morning.

In Defence Of Homer Simpson – The Telltale Head

Inspired by a Church Sermon that said “don’t be like Homer Simpson”, I started watching The Simpsons to decide. Is he really that bad? Here’s what I thought of The Telltale Head:

In the Telltale Head, Bart pulls a prank, asks Homer for advice, the family go to church, and father and son face the first Springfield mob – together. Somewhere in the midst of the above we have a look at what and how we show respect.

Which is all really deep and really packed for a Simpsons episode – and not a long one either.

In Defence Of Homer Simpson – The Call of The Wild

Based on a church sermon which at one point commented “Don’t be like Homer Simpson”, this is a series of podcasts where I try and defend the man, the legend, parent, and Christian that is, Homer Simpson… by rewatching The Simpsons. (This isn’t a highbrow podcast)

In The Call of The Wild.

Yes it goes a little bonkers at the end (Remember it’s a TV show), but considering how bad the trip goes… he never goes off on one at his kids… in fact you could argue this is all him, trying to do the the right thing for his kids. (That. And keeping up with the Flanders)

In Defence of Homer Simpson – “Moaning Lisa”

Based on a church sermon which at one point commented “Don’t be like Homer Simpson”, this is a series of podcasts where I try and defend the man, the legend, parent, and Christian that is, Homer Simpson.

This is where I watch “Moaning Lisa” – Where Homer attempts to cheer up his daughter, and engages with Barts video game playing.

In Defence of Homer Simpson – “Bart The General”

A podcast series inspired by a sermon, who used the example of Homer Simpson from The Simpsons, and said… “Don’t be like Homer Simpson”

This is where I try and defend the man, the legend, parent, and Christian that is, Homer Simpson.

This is where I watch “Bart The General” – Where Homer tries to listen to his son…
