Coronavirus and Church

It looks like someone isn’t happy that Church meetings aren’t allowed to take place…

I chose my words above carefully (for once), because I dont want to appear to agree that churches are closed. They’re not. From what I can gather churches are flipping busy right now.

Lets do a quick round up over why Sunday Services aren’t happening…

Reuters have reported on the issues caused when Coronavirus visited a Church prayer event.

The prayer meeting kicked off the biggest cluster of COVID-19 in France – one of northern Europe’s hardest-hit countries – to date, local government said. Around 2,500 confirmed cases have been linked to it. Worshippers at the church have unwittingly taken the disease caused by the virus home to the West African state of Burkina Faso, to the Mediterranean island of Corsica, to Guyana in Latin America, to Switzerland, to a French nuclear power plant, and into the workshops of one of Europe’s biggest automakers.

The Guardian have reported that a megachurch in California has been linked to 71 Coronavirus cases.

The CDC in America have had a look at the risk of covid in Church.

Whilst that well known left wing newspaper, the Daily Mail, has reported about a Church being at the centre of an outbreak,

A church in rural northeastern Oregon is now the epicenter of the state’s largest coronavirus outbreak, as 236 people tested positive for the disease, authorities said Tuesday.

The large outbreak at Lighthouse Pentecostal Church in Union County comes after it recently held a wedding and a graduation ceremony, each with more than 100 people in attendance.

The surge in new cases from the church led to Oregon’s second consecutive record-setting daily case count.
