#prayforLondon on Twitter

Not sure what Twitter, but you’ve heard ¬†it mentioned on the news recently?

Well Twitter describes itself as:

Social networking and microblogging service utilising instant messaging, SMS or a web interface.

Basically people make a comment about what they are thinking, saying, or doing, in 140 characters or less. One advantage of the Twitter network is that people can find out what other people are saying, to the extent that particular phrases (if used often enough), become “trending topics”. The Trending Topics can illustrate what people are talking about in regards to world events.

For example. #londonriots become a popular hashtag which people used to monitor the events…

Currently the most popular topic to talk about in the Twitter world is #prayforLondon. Therefore more people are currently saying #prayforLondon then any other string of words on Twitter.

Evidence of people uniting?  Evidence of people looking for the positive?
